Ether breaks 2,500 as heavy volume flushes the bid

Ether tumbled from a 2,506 open to a 2,415 low over the last twelve hours, cracking the 2,500 shelf that had contained price all day. The last six hours did nearly all the damage — three consecutive million-plus-volume bars drove price through 2,472 and 2,450 before a weak bounce to 2,436. Cumulative delta remains deeply negative near -173k even as dip-buyers nibble at the lows, so the tape has not yet confirmed a floor.

ETHUSDT Desk Read — the shelf finally gives way

Angle this run: the failed push that turned into a flush. The prior frame described a patient bid absorbing every offer near 2,500. This frame is the other side of that trade — the dip-buyers who defended 2,495 through the overnight grind finally ran out of offers to absorb, and the moment price lost the shelf the selling became self-reinforcing. The tell is the volume: earlier bars printed 140k–430k ETH and went nowhere; the breakdown bars printed 2.1M–2.25M ETH. That is not a grind, it is a liquidation cascade.

The previous twelve hours were a tight, low-energy coil — a 28-point range that closed essentially unchanged. The last twelve hours printed the same open and then broke: a 2,529.57 spike high at 08:00 was sold immediately, and by 15:00 price sat near 2,436, down over 3% on the window.

The six-hour window fell from a 2,495.86 open to 2,436.05, roughly −2.4%. The three bars from 12:00–14:00 account for the entire move and printed ~6.5M ETH combined — more than the rest of the day's volume in three hours.

Order flow (60m stats)

CVD change (last 2 bars)+27,763
Delta 14:00 bar+14,723
Delta 15:00 bar+13,523

The most interesting detail is the divergence between price and delta. Price is collapsing, but the last two bars both printed *positive* delta — aggressors are buying into the flush. Cumulative delta is still deeply negative at −172k, so the dominant flow remains distribution, but the +27.7k CVD recovery over the last two bars says someone is stepping in front of the knife near 2,415–2,420.

Session tone

This is a failed-push-turned-flush structure, not a clean trend. The overnight bid that absorbed every dip near 2,500 was exhausted once price tagged 2,529 and reversed — the higher high drew in late longs, and their stops became the fuel for the 2,415 flush. The tape is now in a *potential* absorption zone: positive delta against a deeply negative CVD means dip-buyers are testing whether 2,415 holds. Until CVD inflects back toward zero, the bounce should be treated as counter-trend rather than a reversal.

The key levels to watch are the 2,472–2,475 breakdown shelf (now resistance) and the 2,415–2,420 flush low (now support). A reclaim of 2,472 on rising delta would be the first sign the flush was a shakeout; a loss of 2,415 with CVD making new lows would open the next leg down.
