Bitcoin fades overnight push as sellers reclaim the tape

Bitcoin spent the last twelve hours bleeding from roughly $77,330 toward a $77,030 low before a shallow rebound carried it back near $77,200, leaving the day roughly flat on a ladder of failed upside probes. The last six hours told the same story in miniature: a grind up toward $77,285 that gave way into the final hour as aggressor delta flipped decisively negative. Sellers are pressing the close again, keeping the market pinned just below the overnight highs.

BTCUSDT — 12h vs 6h Desk Read

Binance USDT-M, 1h candles. Two halves of the same range — the market churned sideways for most of the cycle and gave back the only real push right at the end.

The two candles, side by side

WindowOpenCloseHighLowNet move
Previous 12h (04:00–15:00 UTC)77,236.877,343.777,477.477,129.0+0.14%
Last 12h (16:00–03:00 UTC)77,326.277,193.877,365.677,025.10.17%

Both windows are essentially dead flat — the entire cycle lived inside a ~$450 band. The difference is sponsorship: the prior 12h closed green on thin tape, while the last 12h faded a two-step drop through 77,025 then bounced only halfway back before rolling over again.

Last 6h — the failed push

The six-hour shape is a textbook failed push: price climbed to 77,285 on the strongest-volume bar of the day, then could not hold it. Two consecutive lower closes since have walked the tape back below 77,200 as the session rolls toward its end.

Orderflow — sellers tipped the last hour

Bar (UTC)VolumeDeltaCVD
02:00235.6+58.6398.7
03:001,110.2−273.7389.1

Delta flipped from a modest +58 buy-drive to a sharp −273 sell-drive in the final hour — the most negative single-hour print in the visible window. CVD rolled over from 398.7 to 389.1, confirming the late move is initiative selling rather than passive churn. The 03:00 bar carried ~1,110 BTC on a one-directional push lower, the kind of close that tends to invite follow-through into the next session.

Session tone

Quiet grind with a bearish handoff. For most of the last twelve hours this was a no-conviction tape — wide, overlapping 1h bodies, nothing resolving above 77,365 or below 77,025. The only two defining events were the 17:00–19:00 liquidation-style dip and the overnight rebound that stalled at exactly the 77,28577,365 shelf.

The bear read hinges on one thing: that shelf was tested twice and rejected, and the sellers close the book with the momentum. Hold above 77,025 keeps the range intact and points back at 77,285; a break of 77,025 opens the lower half of the band where the 17:00 sweep found buyers. The tape is leaning short into the close, but it is still range-bound until one of those edges gives.
